In the guide below, I cover most (if not all) of the installation systems you are likely to run into while using Mod Organizer. To that end, I have put together a short guide to modding Fallout: New Vegas using Mod Organizer with a number of visual improvements, extended content, and other goodies. ![]() Mods can enhance, and sometimes completely transform, the gaming experience. Fallout:New Vegas is a great game all on its own, but the beauty of gaming on the PC is that we don’t have to settle for games the way they were released. Okay thats all well and good but for some reason all my files on my D: drive are shown on my desktop, im afraid to delete them for when i tried it showed it was deleting 400gb.With the release of Fallout 4 just a couple of months away, lots of people (myself included) are playing through the previous games in the franchise in anticipation. Launch with FalloutNVLauncher directly and start the game once, then try the steam launcher. With NVSE in the your 'data' folder, you should be good to go.Īs long as NVAC is in your Data/NVSE/Plugins folder, it will be active. So, the 4gb Patcher actually patches the default game launcher, so FalloutNVLauncher is all you need to launch the game. The normal fallout new vegas stopped working once i got nvse Ah, okay. the NVSE Loader.exe is the only application in my files that lets me play the game. ![]() That also doesnt explain why it wont let me launch the game through steam. How will i know if the mod is working once i put it into my newly created plugins folder. Originally posted by Sylvester_Antolak:No, when i use the 4gb patcher.exe it just says fallout new vegas has already been patched. Goes straight onto the main menu.Īny help would be very appreciated. I also am unable to set my game to windowed due to my launcher not showing up when i launch the game. Cause it sure as hell isnt in steam settings. And only god knows where this "Steam community option" is. I have been loading it off of my files - "NVSE_Loader.exe" I have never changed my steam settings so if it is truely enabled by defult, it should work. I know that nvse is working because if i go into the console on fallout new vegas and type "GetNVSEVersion" it says the version is 5. Steam also refuses to check integrity of game files now. I refuse to get nexus mod manager cause its a piece of♥♥♥♥♥♥Īnother thing ive noticed is on the silverlock website it said that it can be run through steam - "Enabling the Steam Community option (enabled by default) will allow you to launch the game via Steam's standard UI.", but now that i have NVSE clicking play on the game in my library no longer works. "Since it's an NVSE plugin, nvac.dll goes in your Data/NVSE/Plugins folder." A video that i can no longer find for whatever reason." I added the scr file as well cause i was told that is where you'd put the mods by some youtube video. Do not copy these files to the Data folder as with a normal mod. If you see files named FalloutNV.exe and FalloutNVLauncher.exe, this is the correct folder. This is usually in your Program Files folder under Steam\SteamApps\common\fallout new vegas\. What I've been getting my directions off of NVAC does include them however-you can simply extract to the data folder and you'll be set." I have no clue what he means by this. All of the mods that are appearently supposed to "fix" it are nvse plugins.Ī dude states "NVSE doesn't include the folders because they would be empty. Pretty frustrating trying to do the REPCONN station 6 times in a row. According to one video it said scr would be where you put the mods, but he had a plugin file, i however do not. ![]() If i had left the entire NVSE folder it would look like this (Fallout New Vegas -> NVSE -> scr -> Common or NVSE. Only a Common Folder and a NVSE folder inside of the scr folder (Fallout New Vegas -> scr) According to youtube and the silverlock website you just take the dll files and exe files and put them into the fallout new vegas file - not the data file (hence why there is no actual NVSE folder - just a NVSE sub-sub folder. As i looked at the directions on how to manually download the plugin it said there should be a plugin file inside of the nvse. I have 4gb patcher and followed the details to the letter. I installed it exactly has told to in directions.
